Symbol: ATP2 Name: ATP synthase F1 subunit gamma Entrez gene ID: 853585 Ensembl gene ID: YJR121W Species: Yeast (Taxid: 4932) Functional description: Atp2p; Beta subunit of the F1 sector of mitochondrial F1F0 ATP synthase, which is a large, evolutionarily conserved enzyme complex required for ATP synthesis; phosphorylated [Source:SGD;Acc:S000003882] [Ensembl] Observation: A temperature sensitive allele of ATP2 causes a clonal senescence phenotype resulting from the disruption of the age asymmetry between mother and daughter cells in that that daughter cells are born as old as they mother cells at 36 degree Celsius. This mutation of valine to isoleucine at amino acid 90 does not affect growth on non-fermentable carbon source. This allele is associated with loss of mitochondrial membrane potential as well as failure to segregate functional mitochondria to daughter cells [12242224]. Interventions: Assays: Replicative Lifespan Classification: Aging Relevance Analysis/Source: Homologs Note: Does it extend replicative lifespan of mother cells? Edit \ Update (Admin) | Delete |
