With Linked Open Data just like other Data on the Web Mashups for Application but importantly those will be Semantic Mashups. This means that they are Applications that use linked RDF Data from various sources, but in difference to traditional ordinary Mashups, one do not has to use different APIs. Linked Data offers several benefits. First of all one has a flexible and standardized Data Format (RDF). Secondly, one has a rather Standardized Access Mechanisms, simply HTTP. Thirdly, one has the possibility to put Links among different Data Sources. These RDF Links enable navigation, they are supported by Search Engines, so the Crawler will follow them and it enables also the application of expressive Search Facilities over the crawled and even beyond.
