Take the simplest hypothesis and this should be the right one, because it it most likely that it is true.
Entities should not be multiplied without necessity.

Among competing hypothesis, the one that makes the fewest assumptions should be selected
A theory is simple, if
it contains as few variables and hypothesis as possible
that relate clearly logical with each other and
the Subject to be explained can be logical deduced (from these assumptions and hypotheses)
