Auricle

Auricle is an Anglicization of Latin auricula, from auris "ear" and -cula, a diminutive suffix [Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auricle]. In animal anatomy, the pinna (Latin for feather) is the visible part of the ear that resides outside of the head (this may also be referred to as the auricle or auricula) [Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinna_(anatomy)].
