dFOXO positively modulates dilp6 mRNA in adult fat body. dilp6 overexpression in adult fat body extends lifespan and increases longevity-associated metabolic phenotypes. dilp6 represses dilp2 and dilp5 mRNA in the brain and secretion of DILP2 into hemolymph. Longevity effect of fat-body expressed dfoxo and nonautonomous effect of fat body dfoxo upon brain dilp expression is blocked by repressing dilp6 by RNAi in fat body [http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22935001].
