Senescence

Senescence is the constellation of deteriorative changes in structure and function of an organism, generally occurring after sexual maturation, which results in a progressive decline in the efficiency of homeostasis and in the success of the reaction to injury (Sharpe, 1979).

The function of organs and tissues decreases form the age of 30 years by around 0.5 - 1.5% per year. This affects all organization levels of an human, from organs to molecules.
