Description:
Significance was for the CC genotype but not for the C allele. Another group which I didn't include were the offsprings of the centenerians in case group, which actually did show significantly increased C allele (p=0.001). The authors explain the significances observed using their "Buffering Mechanisms in Aging hypothesis", roughly meaning other longevity SNPs are responsible for observed associations of this SNP to longevity.
