ins-18 RNAi

Species: Nematode (Taxid: 6239)
Factor: ins-18
Manipulation: Loss-of-Function, Knockdown, RNA Interference
Effect:

Gene silencing of ins-18 (alias Ceinsulin-1) extends lifespan by 30-40%. RNAi animals are slow growing but do not display any dauer phenotype [10873623]. RNAi of ins-18 increases mean lifespan by 5% in rrf-3(pk1426) as control but decreases mean lifespan if animals were keppt at 20 degree Celsius until L2/L3 instead as at 20 degree Celsius through late L2 (both are not significant) [12845331].

Mean: +30 to +40
