CIT2

Symbol: CIT2
Name: CITrate synthase 2
Entrez gene ID: 850361
Ensembl gene ID: YCR005C
Species: Yeast (Taxid: 4932)

Functional description:
Cit2p; Citrate synthase, catalyzes the condensation of acetyl coenzyme A and oxaloacetate to form citrate, peroxisomal isozyme involved in glyoxylate cycle; expression is controlled by Rtg1p and Rtg2p transcription factors [Source:SGD;Acc:S000000598] [Ensembl]

Observation:

Deletion or overexpression of CIT2 has no effect on replicative lifespan. CIT2 is not required for the strain specific lifespan extension in petite cells [10224252], although it is transcribed up to 30-fold higher in petite cells relative to grande cells [1986232].

Interventions:
  • CIT2 deletion
  • CIT2 overexpression

  • Assays: Replicative Lifespan

    Classification:
  • No Age Effect
