Parafascicular Thalamic Nucleus

The parafascicular thalamic nucleus is part of the centromedian complex, located in the caudal region of the intralaminar thalamus. This thalamic region has been traditionally proposed to support pain processing or arousal [Brown et al., 2010: http://www.jneurosci.org/content/30/43/14390.full].
